Guide

A short tour of how TickPort works — not investment advice.

Portfolio basics

Track buys, sells, and cash in one place. Cost basis uses FIFO so your open P&L matches how shares were actually acquired.

Period returns

Period P&L is the change in total NAV (cash + holdings), excluding new deposits and withdrawals in that window.

Today’s attention

A short checklist built from your open positions: concentration risk, stale journal notes, and upcoming earnings when market data is available. It helps you notice what may need a review today — it is not a buy or sell signal.

You will find it on the Portfolio summary. The same market-context data can also fill parts of weekly analysis there.

Scanner & valuation

Presets screen the demo universe today. Valuation ranks names by sector-relative multiples; live ratios appear when Finnhub is configured.

Import watchlist CSV

Load a list of tickers into your scanner watchlist from a CSV file or by pasting text. Choose Merge to add to what you already have, or Replace to start fresh. The list stays on this device and is used when you pick “My watchlist” on Scanner.

Example — a header row plus one ticker per line:

Ticker
NVDA
AAPL
MSFT

A Symbol column works the same way. Import lives in Settings.

Alerts

Price alerts live on this device for now. Add a level on a ticker detail page or in Settings; a banner appears when the quote crosses it.
